Reykjavik, juni 2026
Den nordiska lungkongressen inträffar vart annat år och ger en möjlighet att få ny kunskap och utbyta idéer tillsammans med nordiska och baltiska kollegor. Värdskapet roterar traditionsenligt och anordnades i år av Icelandic Respiratory Society i Reykjavik. Nästa nordiska lungkongress äger rum 2028 i Bergen, Norge och blir den 53:e upplagan.
Chiesi är engagerade i flera forskningsprojekt som vi har haft nöje att presentera i posterform. Chiesi har som mål att verka för en mer jämlik hälsa och har bland annat bidragit till projekt som tittat på förskrivningsmönster i Sverige respektive Danmark utifrån socioekonomiska aspekter.
Det har varit några lärorika dagar och vi har sammanfattat en handfull presentationer inom astma-KOL som vi delar med oss av här nedanför.

Cleaner homes – more allergy? Exploring the epithelial barrier hypothesis
Unnur Steina Björnsdóttir explored the importance of epithelial integrity in asthma and allergic disease, discussing how disruption of the body’s first line of defence may contribute to chronic inflammation. The presentation highlighted the epithelial barrier as a potential emerging treatable trait in asthma. Läs mer
Physical activity in COPD – can 6-second intervals help?
One of the final sessions at Nordic Lung Congress in Reykjavik was dedicated to pulmonary rehabilitation interventions for COPD-patients. Ideally, pulmonary rehabilitation programs are tailored to the patient and are supported by behavior change methods to boost long-lasting health enhancing behavoirs. Ultimately, this can lead to improved physical and psychological condition of people with COPD.(1) Läs mer
Why becoming smoke-free is not enough
A lung conference without a session on smoking is nearly unthinkable, given the detrimental effects smoking has on lung function, morbidity and respiratory disease trajectory. Smoking is the leading behavioral risk factor for mortality globally, causing 7.69 million deaths (2019). Läs mer
