Fighting global threats to respiratory health
Many preventable respiratory hazards are both a cause and a consequence of climate change. Fine particulate matter, especially from wildfires and indoor sources, poses serious health risks and disproportionately affects vulnerable populations. Targeted actions—such as emission reduction, improved indoor air quality, and equity-focused interventions—are essential to protect public health.

Allergen immunotherapy in asthma
IN SUMMARY: Data on allergen immunotherapy (AIT) as a treatment for IgE-mediated allergic diseases was presented, with a particular focus on allergic rhinitis and asthma in the context of house dust mite (HDM) sensitisation. AIT was described as an effective treatment for IgE-mediated disease, both with and without asthma, and is associated with reductions in symptoms, decreased need for rescue medication, and improvements in quality of life.
